Description
A BBSRC-funded Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory ofDr Daniel Ungar to investigate vesicle targeting specificity at theGolgi and its effects on glycan biosynthesis. Biochemical and cellbiological approaches will be employed to determine how differenttethering factors mediate the specific targeting of glycosylation enzymecarrying vesicles to distinct Golgi locations. Using this informationwill allow specific perturbations of the glycosylation machinery andgeneration of models for several diseases in which glycan structures are altered.
You will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant area of Biochemistry orCell Biology and experience of standard biochemical and molecularbiological techniques and some or all of the following: cell culture,fluorescence imaging, glycan analysis, RNA interference.
