Description
The Sars Centre is offering one postdoctoral position for initially twoyears in the Cnidarian Neural Development group. The group studiesneural development and differentiation in the sea anemone Nematostellavectensis with the aim to understand the evolutionary origin of thenervous system. Main research activities concern the transcriptionalcontrol of the development of the apical sense organ and the molecularand cellular basis of synapse and axon formation. Molecular biology andbiochemical techniques are used in combination with transgenesis toaddress these subjects.
Applicants should have a strong interest in developmental biology and asolid background in molecular biology, genetics or cell biology. Theposition is available immediately, the start date is negotiable.
The Sars International Centre is a partner of the European MolecularBiology Laboratory (EMBL), and a department of Unifob, affiliated withthe University of Bergen. The Centre is focused on basic research inmarine molecular biology, developmental biology and evolution, throughgenetic and comparative studies of invertebrates and vertebrates.
Salary for Postdoctoral Researcher (code 8150) start at NOK 390.000depending on seniority. Unifob has employee insurance and pensionagreements and is an equal opportunity employer.
