Description
Pfizer Medicinal Chemistry department at the La Jolla campus invitesapplications for a post-doctoral appointment in computational chemistry.Applicants must have a Ph. D. in chemistry, chemical physics,biophysics, computational sciences, or related fields and havedemonstrated expertise in the fields of ligand-protein interactions andscoring functions. Candidates with a strong background in statisticalmechanics and structure-based approaches in medicinal chemistry arehighly encouraged to apply. The position is full-time (for one year andit is extendable to two years) and will involve challenging researchprojects in computational aspects of drug discovery: validating,analyzing and designing of scoring functions.
Required Skills:
1. Ph. D. in chemistry, chemical physics, computational sciences,biophysics, or a related discipline.
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Strong background in the areas of molecular recognition,ligand-protein interactions and scoring functions
4. Proven record of scientific programming (preferably in C, C++)
5. Experience in using statistical software packages
6. Prior experience in scripting with Perl/C-shell
