A postdoctoral position is available immediately to an enthusiastic researcher to study the structural biology of cellular signaling related to cancer. The new postdoc will be involved in a few aspects of cellular signaling pathways, including phosphatase regulation, reversible protein phosphorylation by kinases and phosphatases, and nuclear receptor signaling. The lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art setup for crystallographic studies, including crystallography robot. The researcher will work in a multidisciplinary setup, including cell biology, biophysics, proteomics, and protein biochemistry, in addition to protein crystallography.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in biochemistry and protein crystallography. The ability to think critically and work both independently and collaboratively is required. Excellent communication and writing skills are appealing. Eligibility to training grant is appealing, but not essential.
Technical skills: molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression in multiple hosts, protein purification; biophysics skills such as ITC , FRET , and/or H-D exchange; and protein crystallography.
Review of applications: will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
To apply: Please send a cover letter, CV and the names and contact information for three references to Dr. Yongna Xing, 1400 University Avenue, McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, University of Wisconsin-Madison-Madison, WI 53706.
