A postdoctoral position is available to study pancreatic islet function in the laboratory of Dr. Les Satin. The laboratory uses genetically modified mouse models, novel optical probes (including FRET-sensors), molecular biology, patch clamping and mathematical modeling to study the stimulus-secretion coupling mechanisms of islets. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. or an M.D. degree and should have experience in cell electrophysiology or beta cell biology. The laboratory is situated in the Brehm Diabetes Center, an interactive environment housing a number of first-rate diabetes investigators.
