A postdoctoral position isavailable to study pancreatic islet function in the laboratory of Dr.Les Satin. The laboratory uses genetically modified mouse models, noveloptical probes (including FRET-sensors), molecular biology, patchclamping and mathematical modeling to study the stimulus-secretioncoupling mechanisms of islets. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D.or an M.D. degree and should have experience in cell electrophysiologyor beta cell biology. The laboratory is situated in the Brehm DiabetesCenter, an interactive environment housing a number of first-ratediabetes investigators.
