Postdoctoral positions in lipidomics
3 postdoctoral positions (one each in cell biology, informatics andanalytics) are available in a new Competitive Research Program.
The common denominator among all projects is the emerging field of“lipidomics”. We propose to substantially advance research anddevelopment in lipidomics by providing novel tools for applications inbiological and environmental sciences. These tools include hardware(chemical probes, antibodies) as well as software (search algorithms,analytical methods).
The program is built on basic research and engineering with a strongoutlook on applications. Six laboratories from the National Universityof Singapore (NUS) form the core team. Each member brings in uniqueexpertise and research excellence in a highly integrated approach,merging facets of medicine, cell/biology, bio/engineering, organicchemistry and bioinformatics.
Included as industry partners, the Novartis Institute for TropicalDiseases and instrument manufacturer Applied Biosystems – willcollaborate in development and application of the above tools. Theprogram will enhance international connections to major initiatives atpartner initiatives and universities including SystemsX.ch and Yale.
Qualified applicants should have a PhD degree and strong backgrounds inanalytical chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology or bioinformatics.Experience in lipid research is an advantage. The successful candidatesare expected to integrate cross-disciplinary and translationalapproaches at the interface between academic, corporate and clinical research.
