Description
A Post-doctoral/Research Associate position in molecular muscle biologyis immediately available in an integrative muscle biology laboratory atDuke University Medical Center (www.duke.edu/web/yanlab orwww.gms.edu.sg/index.php?Our%20Faculty). Research in this laboratoryfocuses on the molecular and signaling mechanisms of skeletal muscleplasticity. Specifically, we are investigating mechanisms of skeletalmuscle adaptation in response to exercise and maladaptation in responseto cachexia and type 2 diabetes. These studies involve moderntechnologies that range from cultured cells to living animals. Acombination of the state-of-the-art technologies, such as in vivobioluminescence imaging and high density cDNA microarray, withphysiological and genetic animal models in vivo is one of the strengthsof the research program in this laboratory.
M.D./Ph.D. graduates with solid background in molecularbiology/biochemistry, strong innovation focus, good communication skillsand a proven publication record will be competitive for the position.
