Postdoctoral Scientist Positions

Salary in the range of £25,500 – £38,000 dependent upon qualificationsand experience
The Paterson Institute is a leading cancer centre of excellencecore-funded by Cancer Research UK and is an Institute of The Universityof Manchester.
Two positions are available in the Leukaemia Biology Group to study thebiology of leukaemia stem cells. The primary aim of the laboratory is tofurther understand the mechanisms that regulate maintenance of theself-renewing sub-fraction of cells within a malignancy, so-calledcancer stem cells. Applications from candidates with broad experience inmolecular biology are encouraged, although prior experience in any ofthe following techniques would be an advantage: xenogeneic and syngeneictransplantation model systems; generation and analysis of transgenic orknockout model systems; retroviral or lentiviral shRNA genetic knockdowntechniques; culture of human primary normal or malignant haematopoietic cells.
