Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Thimo Kurz to study how mutations of an E3 ubiquitin ligase cause a high-blood pressure syndrome in humans. The successful candidate will develop in vitro assays for E3 activity, examine the E3 ligase in cells, and characterize a mouse model of the disease. The work will be performed in close collaboration with the group of Prof. Dario Alessi, who has long-standing interest and expertise in the field of blood pressure regulation.
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual with a strong background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The position is for 3 years.

The Protein Ubiquitylation Unit is the first research division of the SCottish Institute for ceLL Signalling (SCILLS). Launched in October 2008, its aim is to study the role of protein ubiquitylation and related modifications in cell regulation and human disease.
The Institute is situated next to the world-renowned Medical Research Council Protein Phosphorylation Unit, in a beautiful location overlooking the estuary of the River Tay.
