The Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) is a non-profitorganization based in Seattle, Washington and is committed to developingvaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic tools for use in the developing world.
TB remains a serious global health problem and there is an urgent needfor new therapeutic agents. The TB Discovery Group’s primary aim is toidentify and validate novel drug targets. We are seeking highlyqualified individuals at the Scientist or Post-doctoral level to conductresearch in the area of tuberculosis drug development. The successfulapplicant will conduct research into the development of proteases asnovel drug targets, utilizing a wide range of molecular andmicrobiological techniques.
Applicants should have a background in molecular biology and an interestin infectious disease. Scientist applicants should have a Ph.D. andminimum of 2.5 years of independent research experience; Postdoctoralapplicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant area. Experience inbacterial genetics, mycobacteria and/or pathogens would be an advantage.
