Description
A post-doctoral molecular physiologist/molecular biologist is requiredto undertake research on peroxisomal ABC transporters in the Departmentof Biological Chemistry at Rothamsted Research.
The project will investigate the functions of the Arabidopsis thalianaperoxisomal ABC transporter, COMATOSE, including analysing novelmutations that affect substrate specificity and examining to what extentperoxisomal ABC transporters of plants, yeast and humans fulfil similarfunctions, using a range of approaches.
This is a joint project between the labs of Dr. F. Theodoulou atRothamsted Research and Dr. A. Baker and Prof S. Baldwin at theUniversity of Leeds and we are looking for a motivated researcher whowill have the opportunity to make a unique contribution to the projectwhilst working effectively within, and benefiting from being a member ofa dynamic and productive multidisciplinary team.
Applicants are required to hold a PhD in a biological subject (orequivalent); experience with genetic manipulation of plants is essential.
Funding is available for three years at Band 6-PD level, with a startingsalary normally in the region of £24,200 to £27,200 per annum (pay awardpending). An early start date is preferred.
