Description
We look for a young, graduated PhD, scientist that is willing to start apostdoc at the CIBIO (Center for Integrative Biology), University ofTrento (Italy).
The CIBIO center is a new research center, recently established, born topursue the task of creating a suitable environment for merging classicalcellular and molecular biology approaches with the new powerful tools ofsystems and synthetic biology, and with the contribution of chemistry,physics and informatics in an integrative view of basic biologicalprocesses and of their derangement in disease.
The postdoc position is available in the lab of Dr Alessandro Provenzani(provenzani@science.unitn.it), responsible for the chemical genomicinitiative at CIBIO, and the focus of the project is about geneexpression based drug screening in cancer. The candidate will make aresearch to i) identify new possible druggable pathways and targets bythe help of polysomal gene signatures and ii) to develop new assays tobe used in high-troughput drug screening. The center offers new and hightechnology instrumentation and a young positive environment.
The ideal candidate should have:
• A PhD in life sciences, biology is preferred
• A strong and wide multidisciplinary background: basic molecularbiology techniques and cell biology is a must, experience withmicroarray and robotics is a plus.
• English language skills
