Project Development Manager or Business Development Manager (depending on experience)

Starting Salary from (plus benefits): PDM £33,000 p.a BDM £41,500 p.a

Cancer Research Technology (CRT ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cancer Research UK and has responsibility for identifying, developing and advancing discoveries in cancer research for the benefit of cancer patients. All our profits are reinvested in further cancer research through Cancer Research UK. In addition to its support for Cancer Research UK, CRT works closely with leading cancer research institutes and charities in the UK, USA , Europe and Australasia. CRT has an exceptional track record in sourcing, developing and licensing intellectual property rights, and creating collaborations and alliances with biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies.

Both roles offer an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to help the Business Management Group drive forward the development and commercialisation of exciting new cancer therapeutics, diagnostics and allied technologies. You will bridge the gap between ground-breaking academic discovery science and industrial drug discovery and clinical development and commercialisation by applying a varied range of skills including scientific evaluation, patent prosecution, project management, marketing and deal making.

For either role you will be qualified to PhD (or equivalent) level, preferably in oncology. For appointment at Business Development Manager level you will have at least 2 years experience in technology transfer or, if from industry, an equivalent period of time in alliance management or business development and licensing.

Being well-organised and an excellent communicator, you will have proactive project management and commercialisation skills as well as the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
