Description
Project title:
The role of the Mig6 tumour-suppressor in spatio-temporal control ofErbB-receptor signaling.
The successful postholder will work on a project that seeks to provideinsight into the underexplored mechanisms by which a growing family ofmultiadaptor feedback modulators (such as Mig6) contributes to thespecification of receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) mediated signalingduring tissue development and homeostasis.
The mechanism by which Mig6 negatively regulates ErbB receptor signalingremains unclear and will be the topic of investigation. Morespecifically we will aim at state-of-the-art proteomic identification ofnovel effector molecules that are regulated by Mig6 and characterise therelevance of these interactions for ErbB-regulated cellular anddevelopmental processes.
Applicants should have PhD in a relevant discipline and have thecapacity for carrying out studies independently. Experience of mammaliantissue culture, transfection, molecular biology and protein purificationand characterization would all be advantageous.
The BBSRC funded post is available from 1st of May 2008 for 3 years.
The salary will be on the University scale Grade 7 (£26,666-£32,796)plus £2572 London Allowance. Appointments are usually made to the bottomrange of this scale.
