Description
A three year postdoctoral position is available on a British HeartFoundation-funded grant to investigate the regulation of ITAM andintegrin receptor signaling in platelets by the novel platelet surfaceprotein G6b-B. G6b-B is a novel ITIM-containing protein that binds theprotein tyrosine phosphatases Shp1 and Shp2 and inhibits platelet activation.
The project is based in Birmingham but is collaborative with the groupof Prof Duncan Campbell in Oxford. Applications are invited fromindividuals with a strong background in protein biochemistry andmolecular and cellular biology. Previous experience in working withplatelets or other haematopoietic cells is desirable. An interest incell surface receptors and their signalling pathways is essential.
