Description
Our lab develops methods and tool for understanding genetics andgenomics of cancer. Specifically, we consider interaction betweensomatic alterations and germline genetics that are selected for in tumordevelopment, and utilize high throughput data to infer and discover suchconnections. The successful candidate is expected to lead this project,in terms of both analytic developments and biological interpretation,mentoring students and interacting with collaborators.
Lab: Pe’er lab, Department of Computer Science/Center for ComputationalBiology & Bioinformatics, Columbia University
Requirements: Experience in computational biology is required. Strongunderstanding of both biology (genetics, genomics, cancer biology) aswell as computation (algorithmics, machine learning, probability,statistics, programming) is a plus.
