Postdoctoral position available to study histone demethylation inlineage commitment
The group of Stem Cell Epigenetics at the European Institute of Oncologyin Milan, Italy, invites applications for a postdoctoral candidate witha strong interest and solid background in mouse and stem cell biology.
The focus of the lab is on the epigenetic mechanisms that enable theestablishment and maintenance of lineage choices. We use mice and mouseembryonic stem cells as model systems to study histone lysinemethylation and demethylation during lineage commitment.
The successful candidate will characterize the in vivo function ofhistone demethylases using a range of highly innovative mouse modelsthat were recently established in the lab.
The IFOM–IEO CAMPUS was established by the joint effort of two majorprivate Cancer research Institutions in Italy, the FIRC Institute ofMolecular Oncology (IFOM) and the European Institute of Oncology (IEO)that have expanded and integrated their research activities into acommon campus. It presently comprises about 35 independent ResearchGroups with access to a number of Central services, including AnimalFacilities (mouse, zebrafish, and C.elegans), Imaging, Protein andAntibody Production, DNA and Tissue Microarrays, DNA Sequencing,Proteomics and Bioinformatics. In addition, the IEO Hospital is acomprehensive cancer center engaged in patient care, therapy andclinical research.
