Description

To work on collaborative project between Divisions of Developmental Biology (PI Chris Wylie), and Orthopedic Surgery (PI Atiq Durrani), on development of the spine. Spinal deformities such as scoliosis affect thousands of young people, and yet the mechanism of spine growth is only poorly understood. In this funded project, we aim to identify the cell signals that control normal growth of the spine, using the mouse as a model. Candidates should be skilled in cell and molecular biological techniques, and have an understanding of mouse genetics.
