Description
We are currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill postdoctoralpositions in
Electrophysiology (E13), as well as 2 PhD students,
for joint projects with the group of Prof. B. Fakler (Institute ofPhysiology II), University of Freiburg, Germany, in the area ofmolecular characterization of ion channel and receptor protein complexes.
Our group is focussed on functional proteomics of multiprotein complexesassociated with integral membrane proteins such as ion channels andGPCRs. The candidate electrophysiologist will analyse such proteincomplexes in heterologous expression systems (Xenopus oocytes, culturecells) and native cells (brain slices) using the patch clamp techniquein all configurations (conventional and giant patch clamp); basicknowledge in electrophysiology is required.
The candidate biochemist will isolate multiprotein complexes frommembrane preparations, identify their constituents by nano-LC massspectrometry and investigate the structural and functional background ofthe respective protein-protein interactions.
The postdoctoral position are open from now and have long-term perspective.
