Description
A postdoctoral research fellow position is immediately available at theAStar Institute of Medical Biology. The successful applicant will join acollaborative and multidisciplinary research team including scientistsfrom the National University of Singapore, the Institute of MedicalBiology (where the successful candidate will be located), and theBioinformatics Institutes of ASTAR. He/she will be trained in amultidisciplinary environment and will mainly be involved in using novelmicroscopy methods for understanding basic problems of stem cell biologyin the fruitfly Drosophila and in mammalian neural stem cells.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a Ph. D. degree inBiomedical Sciences, such as Molecular Biology, Genetics, orDevelopmental Biology. He/she should have the capability to work andcommunicate with other scientists in a multidisciplinary researchenvironment. Knowledge of the development of the nervous system inanimal models such as Drosophila (preferable) or mice, as well asexperience in Stem Cell Biology are desirable. Knowledge and experiencein light microscopy, live cell imaging, image processing and molecularbiology are advantageous. Applications will be considered until theposition is filled. Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
