Research Group
The research of group Molecular & Cellular Exercise Physiology
is aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms that mediate local and systemic adaptations to exercise. We are particularly interested in understanding how exercised or sedentary skeletal muscle can crosstalk with other organs, and how it can affect individual health and
disease. To this end, we use in vitro and in vivo systems to dissect the regulatory mechanisms that are
activated by exercise and that control the different exercise-induced adaptations.

We are looking for a highly motivated co-worker with a PhD degree in an area relevant for this position.

The project to be developed is focused on the identification of new gene regulatory pathways important
for the control of skeletal muscle function. For that reason, the candidate must have a strong background
in biochemistry and molecular biology including recombinant DNA work, general cell culture techniques, preparation and culture of primary cells, and preparation and use of viral vectors. Experience
with handling and manipulation of mouse models is meriting. The ideal candidate should be ambitious
and strongly motivated to develop the proposed project. An excellent control of the english language is an absolute requirement, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

To qualify, the applicant must hold a doctor’s degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a
doctorate in a relevant field. The applicant must have more than 3 years of experience in experimental research. The position as Research Fellow will be fixed to two years with possibilities for prolongation
with two years.
