Post Doctoral Fellow - Neurology, Neuroscience, Pain
A FT Post Doctoral Fellow position is available in the Department ofNeurology at Thomas Jefferson University. The post doc will conduct,manage, and coordinate various basic science behavioral,electrophysiological or microdialysis research projects. Summarize andanalysis data from research projects for publication from current andnew research projects.
Some Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinate and perform basic science pain research usingbehavioral,electrophysiological and/or microdialysis techniques in rats.
2. Analyze data, and write reports and prepare manuscripts forpublication in peer-reviewed journals and for scientific meetings.
3. Manage the daily operations of research projects include animal carespecific to the lab’s research projects.
4. Organize and manage data collection and management for ongoingresearch projects
5. Assist in training research staff including post-docs, medicalstudents, and visiting students.
6. Assist in writing NIH grants and research proposals to industry.
Educational and Experience Requirements
•Graduate degree (Ph.D.) in life sciences
•1-2 years experience in research methodology
•1-2 years experience in data and advanced statistical analysis
•1-2 years experience with small animal handling and surgery
•Experience in grant writing and proposal development
•Experience in computers and advanced programming languages
•Must be able to work independently, supervise others and delegate tasks.
