This position iseligible for a $500 Employee Referral Bonus consistent with theUniversity policy. The Postdoctoral Associate will be part of theCardiac Signal Transduction and Cellular Biology Laboratory andparticipate in current research which asks how the information ofmultimolecular protein complexes confers specificity in intracellularsignaling. A major focus of the lab has been the mAKAP signalosome thatfacilitates crosstalk between cAMP, calcium and MAP-kinase signalingpathways and that is important for the induction of myocyte hypertrophy.Other interests include the identification of novel scaffolds for thephosphatase calcineurin.
A wide range of techniques are being used to address these questionsincluding the biochemical analysis of recombinant proteins in vitro,tranfection of primary cardiac myocyte cultures, live cell imaging andthe generation of mutant mice models. Candidates will be required to getinvolved in the experiments and gather data.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent. Enthusiasticindividuals with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cellbiology or cardiac physiology are encouraged to apply. Candidates withtwo to three years of experience preferred. An appropriate combinationof relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
