Description

Study aquaporins – water channel proteins of biological membranes –using methods in biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular genetics andhigh-resolution structure analysis.
The aims of the research project is to:

* understand the gating mechanism of plant and human aquaporins.
* investigate the possibility of inserting plant aquaporins inartificial nano-structured membranes for biotechnological applications.
* evaluate identified drug leads to human aquaporins.
