Description
The Jordan laboratory at CCHMC has an open position for a highlymotivated postdoctoral scientist with an interest in immune regulation,T cell effector function, and/or histiocytic disorders. The applicantshould have a strong background in cellular immunology and T cellbiology, with specific experience including flow cytometry and animalwork. Expertise in cell signaling, biochemistry, vaccine immunology, andvirology is also desirable.
Our NIH funded laboratory is focused on immune regulation andimmune-mediated pathologies. We have recently defined how cytotoxicfunction and other T cell effector functions provide negative feedbackfor developing immune responses. These studies are rooted in an animalmodel, which we have developed, of a rare but devastating humandisorder, called hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, which is associatedwith deficient cytotoxic function. We are also keenly interested inunderstanding how immune hyperactivation, as seen in this syndrome, drives severe macrophage-mediated pathologies. Additionally, we havesignificant interests in understanding immune priming as it applies tovaccine immunology.
Children’s Hospital Medical Center is a leading medical research andteaching hospital consistently ranking among the top 10 pediatricshospitals in the nation. We are the second-highest recipient of NIHresearch dollars among pediatric institutions, and the third-highestranked Department of Pediatrics in the nation.
Applicants should send a letter detailing specific scientific interests, accomplishments, and goals. Additionally, please send a curriculumvitae, and 3 references to the address below.
