Division: Tumor Virology
Description:
The project consists of preclinical studies in animal models on thefeasibility and safety of using the rat parvovirus H-1 (H-1PV) for theoncolytic treatment of tumors (of the brain, pancreas and other tumorentities). In animal models, routes, dosages etc. of virus inoculationhave to be established and validated, and replication, expression ofviral macromolecules, and biodistribution (imaging) and shedding ofvirus have to be assessed. In addition, combination of virotherapy withchemo- or radiotherapy has to be analyzed in appropriate animal modelsincluding humanized animals.
Qualification:
The applicant for the position should have an excellent knowledge inexperimental animal models. He/she should have experience in virologyand/or viral immunology. Knowledge in tumor biology andpharmaco-toxicology is desirable
Applicants should be highly motivated, have excellent communicationskills and enjoy working in a translational setting.
The position is available as soon as possible and limited to 3 years.
