Description
This post is funded by the BBSRC and will involve an experimentalanalysis of protein translocation reaction governed by the ubiquitousand essential SecY complex. You will undertake an independent researchproject by employing a range of biochemical and biophysical methods tofocus on the nature of consequences of the interaction of the proteinchannel SecYEG and its substrate polypeptide. The objective will be tocharacterise the structure of the SecYEG complex formed with variouspolypeptides. You will be expected to continue and advance ourunderstanding of this important reaction. You will also be expected tocommunicate the results of the project at internal laboratory meetings,at appropriate scientific meetings and in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or apermanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevantresearch experience. Further information can be found at http://www.bristol.ac.uk/personnel/ftc/
