An NIH grant funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratoryof Dr. Kimberly Nixon at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacyto study the role of microglia in neural stem/progenitor cellproliferation in rodent models of alcoholism and/or mechanisms ofneurodegeneration in an adolescent model of an alcohol use disorder. TheNixon Lab uses pharmacological, biochemical, neuroanatomical andbehavioral tools to examine mechanisms of neurodegeneration andregeneration in models of alcohol use disorders.
We seek an exceptional individual with initiative, motivation, andexcellent laboratory skills to join our energetic young laboratory. Theideal candidate will have a track record of peer reviewed publicationsin neuroscience and experience in animal models of addiction, animalbehavior, or neurohistology. This position requires the ability to workas part of a team and a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biological psychology,neuropharmacology or closely related field.
Position is currently open and applications will be reviewed until theposition is filled.
