Description
The primary focus of the laboratory is to explore how certain tumorsuppressor pathways influence developmental processes. Two currentprojects explore (1) how the Arf tumor suppressor gene is regulated andcontrols aspects of development, including vascular remodeling in thedeveloping eye; and (2) how the regulation of Rb protein function byCyclin dependent kinases influences skeletal muscle differentiation andthe biology of skeletal muscle-derived cancers. Experimental approachestake advantage of existing mouse models and cell culture-based systemsand may include the development of new mouse models to address specificexperimental questions. Standard molecular and cellular biology andhistology techniques are routinely used.
