Description
The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.FUMING ZHOU. Thisposition will offer ample practical and theoretical research-trainingopportunities in the fields of cellular neurophysiology,neuropharmacology, neuropsychopharmacology, and systems neuroscience.Practical training in molecular and cellular neurobiology, patch clampand voltammetry will be provided. Selected candidate will have ampleopportunities to interact with a diverse and strong neurosciencecommunity at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center atMemphis. Duties will involve designing and conducting experimentspertaining directly to the NIH grant-related projects assigned. Willhave responsiblity for the dopamine, serotonin, drug addiction, andParkinson’s disease-related projects using cellular and molecularneurobiological techniques. Will write reports and fellowshipapplications relative to reserch projects assigned. This positioninvolves the use of small animals and require small animal surgery (ratand mouse).
Qualifications: Ph.D. and/or M.D. required. Scientist with skills incellular and molecular neurobiological techniques.
