Description
A postdoctoral position is available at the University of BritishColumbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in the Department of Ophthalmologyand Visual Sciences. The candidate will investigate the mechanismsunderlying targeting and transport of membrane proteins to photoreceptorouter segments, the relationship of these mechanisms to human diseasestates, and molecular events occurring in the degenerating retina. Theproject will utilize transgenic X. laevis as an experimental system.Expertise with molecular/cell biological techniques and/or confocalmicroscopy is preferred. The position is fully funded by grant support.This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, persistent, motivatedindividual who would enjoy a high level of independence, and is capableof developing and carrying out sophisticated research protocols.
