Description
Postdoctoral researchers are sought for a large-scale effort to usegenomic technologies to understand the biological basis of cognitivedisorders and cancer by studying the sequence variation in humans.
Positions are available for the following projects.
1. Analysis of Genetic Variation in Large, (for instance thousands ofgenes or very large genomic regions) Targeted Areas of the Genome to Study:
Cognitive Disorders, including schizophrenia
Cancer in human and mouse model systems
2. Analysis of Total Genome Variation to Study:
The complete genome sequence of individuals
Variation in the cancer genome in humans and mouse.
3. Study of the evolution of cancer genomes in humans and mouse.
We are also looking for researchers to continue to enhance thetechnology for targeted resequencing (as described initially in Hodges,E.,Xuan, Z.,Balija, V., Kramer, M. Molla, M., Smith, S., Middle,C.,Rodesch, M., Albert, T. Hannon, G., McCombie, W.R. (2007).Genome-wide in situ exon capture for selective resequencing. NatureGenetics 12:1522-7.)
The possibility of an appointment at a higher level exists forappropriate applicants.
