A post doctoral position is available in the laboratory for Drug Delivery Systems (http://www.poly.edu/dds/) in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Polytechnic Institute of New York University in Brooklyn, New York. Research is focused on in vitro and in vivo evaluation of novel lipid-based carriers (liposomes) for targeted delivery of cancer therapeutics.

The postdoctoral scientist will be responsible for the evaluation of drug delivery mechanisms using novel liposomes for the advancement of anticancer activity of chemotherapeutic agents and radionuclides in tumor bearing mice models.

Candidates should have a PhD in pharmacology, or a related field. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to have experience with cell biology techniques (cellular uptake, intracellular trafficking, mechanisms of cell death) and experience working with animals (mice). Experience with conjugation chemistries for the generation of antibody-vesicle assemblies is also required. Independence, creativity and good communication skills are essential.

The postdoctoral scientist will have opportunities to interact with cancer biologists, medicinal chemists and physicians at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NY, NY as part of research collaborations.

The position is available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have permission to work in the United States.
