Multiple Postdoctoral Positions in Basic and Translational Neuroscience/Stem Cell Research

Location: UC Davis School of Medicine/Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy/Shriners Institute of Pediatric Regenerative Medicine, Sacramento, CA

Positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Wenbin Deng to study: (1) Embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells, and their differentiation towards the neural/glial lineages for regenerative medicine; and (2) Molecular mechanisms of nervous system development and disease. Emphasis is on signaling mechanisms of neuronal and glial cell death, excitotoxic, oxidative and inflammatory forms of injury to the brain, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., experience in electrophysiology, and molecular biology of the brain or stem cells, and a good publication record. Candidates will have the opportunity to obtain experience and training in animal models of human disease, neural/stem cell culture techniques, and biochemical and cellular/molecular biological methods.
