The Division of Neuroscience at the Ludwig-Maximilian-UniversityBiocenter and the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Munichinvite applications for several
Senior Postdoc (wiss. Assistent), Postdoc, and PhD positions
in experimental neurobiology and computational neuroscience. A closecollaboration between theorists and experimental researchers isspecifically supported. Positions are associated with 4 independentresearch groups (see http://www.mcn.lmu.de/neurojobs):

• Benedikt Grothe – physiology of auditory brainstem circuits,development and experience-dependent refinement of inhibitory circuits
• Andreas Herz – cellular biophysics, optimality and adaptation ofsensory systems, cell-intrinsic rhythms and large-scale oscillations,collective properties of neural networks
• Christian Leibold – plasticity and dynamics in recurrent networks,theory of information processing in the auditory brainstem, models ofthe hippocampal formation
• Jan Benda – signal processing in the periphery of sensory systems,spike-generation, spike-frequency adaptation, computational propertiesof neural networks
Young scientists with a background in computational sciences,biophysics, neurobiology, or cell biology and a strong interest ininterdisciplinary research will find suitable projects at ourHigh-Tech-Campus in Martinsried. The location hosts an exceptionalnumber of excellent neuroscientific groups and institutions, includingMax-Planck and Helmholtz institutes, large clinical neurologyfacilities, and the Munich Center for Neurosciences that facilitatescollaborative research and teaching. The Graduate School for SystemicNeurosciences provides a structured framework for PhD projects. Munichitself is one of most beautiful and exciting cities in Germany, offeringopportunities not only in a professional context with a rich variety ofcultural, and leisure activities.
