Description

A post-doctoral position in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry available. A young research group at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry sponsored by the Colorado Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology (CIMB). The CIMB is an initiative at CU to foster new research, teaching, and technology development at the interface of life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics and computational sciences, and engineering. The program has close ties to many local biotech companies, including placement of researchers and participation in multi-disciplinary research programs. Yin’s group is specifically interested in the areas of: (1) biology and signaling of integral membrane proteins that play important roles in drug addiction/abusing, cardiovascular diseases an stroke, cancers, and infectious diseases; (2) organic, medicinal and combinatorial synthesis for application in drug discovery and nanotechnology; and (3) protein receptor binding or cell-based drug screening assay. Experience with cellular assays, protein purification, computational methods, tissue culture, biomoelucular spectroscopies, and other molecular biology techniques desired.
