A fantastic vacancy has arisen in the Molecular Biology group with my client for a Microbial Molecular Geneticist. The candidate will be required to work on a number of projects in the following areas:
1• Skilled in the construction of plasmids for gene expression and genetic modification of bacteria.
2• Construction and evaluation of vaccines. Focussed on genetically fusing antigens to the spore coat of Bacillus subtilis for vaccine delivery.
3• Bacterial vectors for vaccines. Genetically engineer attenuated Salmonella to deliver protein and DNA vaccines orally to stimulate the mucosal immune system via the lining of the gastrointestinal tract.
4• Optimisation of expression systems. Designing and constructing expression plasmids and strains to improve their technology for the benefit of our clients.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in the biological or biomedical sciences, and be skilled in the construction of plasmids for gene expression and genetic modification of bacteria.

You will have commercial experience, or post doctoral experience.
