Salary range £27,183-£35,469 p.a.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced technician/technologist to assist in the flow cytometry core service.
The main duties of the post-holder will be the operation and maintenance of MoFlo sorters and Becton Dickinson/ Beckman Coulter Analyzers, in addition to performing sorting experiments and the multi-colour analysis of fluorescent-stained biological specimens on behalf of researchers. The successful applicant will be well organized and a team player and help in the provision of training for staff in the use of the equipment and in data analysis, and to assist in introducing new techniques appropriate to the needs of researchers. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people are therefore essential.

Applicants should have a degree in a relevant science (preferably physical/chemical science or technology/engineering) and be confident in IT applications. They should also have a basic understanding of cell biology and substantial experience of flow cytometry and cell sorting, preferably with MoFlo. The ideal candidate will have experience in provision of analytical core service in a medical research institute/industry.
