Description

The Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington and is committed to developing therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostic tools for use in the developing world.

TB remains a serious global health problem and there is an urgent need for new therapeutic agents. We are seeking highly qualified individuals at the post-doctoral level to conduct research in the area of tuberculosis biology. The successful applicant will conduct research into the role of lipoarabinomannan in the physiology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis utilizing a wide range of molecular, biochemical and microbiological techniques.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant area with a background in molecular biology or microbiology and an interest in infectious disease. Experience in bacterial genetics, mycobacteria and/or pathogens would be an advantage. Position is based on grant funding for a maximum of 2 years with potential possibility of extension.
