Description

We are currently seeking experienced Cytogenetic Technologists to join our talented staff at our state-of-the-art laboratory facility in NY. Our Technologists perform a wide variety of cytogenetic testing services for the diagnosis and monitoring of pre- and post- natal genetic related disorders.

Opportunities exist for NCA certified/eligible Technologists who are interested in performing all aspects of microscope analysis, tissue culture, cell harvesting and karyotyping on a variety of tissue specimens ( blood, bone marrow, etc).
You will distinguish between normal and abnormal test results, independently perform laboratory tasks designed to diagnose chromosomal abnormalities from patient specimens, and provide significant support activities such as assisting with the evaluation of new protocol or tests. This individual will summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature; maintain clinical and internal documentation files, and other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability in the application of the requisite skills to perform the required tasks of the position. Receive detailed instructions on new routine, non-technical work, which may be closely supervised and reviewed. All lab related activities of a technical nature require review as mandated by laboratory standard operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications

A BS Degree in a Life Science or equivalent is required, and 0-2 years of lab experience in Cytogenetics is required. In order to be eligible for positions in NY, a current NCA Certification, and a NY license/eligibility in Cytogenetics are required.
