Description
Our laboratory has currently received two years of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to study acute locomotor sensitivity to psychostimulants in multiple inbred strains of mice. The project involves behavioral testing as well as genetic, pharmacokinetic and genomic analysis to identify genes that contribute to strain behavioral differences in response to psychostimulants. We are seeking a candidate for a post-doctoral position to work with several technicians and a graduate student on all aspects of the project including identification and exploratory analysis of candidate genes for further study.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, genetics or a related field and a strong interest in using animal models to further the understanding of human addiction. Applicants with relevant experience in rodent behavioral models, genetic analysis and molecular biology techniques are preferred.
