We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to strengthen our protein characterization and purification activities. The position is within the Department of Protein Chemistry which is part of the Diabetes Protein Engineering area in the Novo Nordisk Diabetes Research Unit located north-west of Copenhagen.
The Department is engaged in discovery activities directed towards the development of protein and peptide therapeutics for improved treatment of diabetes and obesity. The Department currently consists of 11 scientists, 13 technicians, 2 PhD students, and 1 postdoctoral scientist working with various aspects of classical protein chemistry disciplines with focus on techniques as protein purification, analysis development, characterization, as well as protein stability and design.
Challenges
The Discovery work is organized in multidisciplinary project teams. You will contribute with expertises within protein characterization and purification to several early stage projects. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing new approaches for analysis of protein structure and stability applying state-of-the-art liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. in protein chemistry, proteomics, biochemistry or related discipline with additional postdoctoral training within above mentioned disciplines. You must have an excellent track record of original research. Extensive experience with protein/peptide separation techniques and protein mass spectrometry is required. Finally, since all work takes place in multidisciplinary project groups, good interpersonal interactive and communicative skills are essential.
