Description:
The Howarth lab is situated in the University of Oxford Department of Biochemistry and is involved in developing new approaches to imaging, diagnosis, and basic biochemical investigation, for cancer and other diseases. We are seeking to appoint a Postdoc to extend the possibilities for imaging receptor trafficking in the mammalian secretory pathway, to understand what controls whether endocytosed receptors are degraded or restored to the cell surface.

Applicants should possess a PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related area (or have been awarded their PhD prior to taking up the appointment), significant experience in molecular biology (DNA cloning and recombinant protein expression), and a strong record of research achievement. Candidates with skills in cell biology, proteomics, protein engineering, or fluorescence microscopy would be well suited but this is not required.
The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust for 2 years.
