Description:

We are interested in the endocrine regulation of stem cell fate decisions. We are currently focused on glucocorticoids and the relationship between this class of hormones influence on stem cell fate and the pathophysiology of obesity and metabolic disease. We use molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture assays and mouse models to elucidate the relevant pathways regulated by hormones in cell fate decisions. Our primary objective is to understand the relationship between the endocrine influence on stem cell fate and physiology and pathophysiology found in humans. Candidates with experience with stem cell biology, molecular biology and mouse models are preferred.
