Job Description The Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures of the College of Agriculture at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Research Fellow I/II. **This position is located at the Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center in Fairhope, AL.** This is a 1 year, limited term position contingent on availability of funding. The successful candidate in this position will execute offshore, independent research in the area of marine fishes and invertebrates in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Execution will include conducting ecological and assessment studies on age and growth of marine fish, reproduction, diet analyses, mark and recapture, ultrasonic telemetry, distributions, reef fish surveys, interactions, hydroacoustic surveys, SCUBA surveys, publishing and presenting results of research at national and international professional meetings. In addition, the individual in the position will maintain and care of laboratory captive fishes and invertebrates. Duties will also include maintaining and operating research vessels and building artificial reefs. The minimum qualifications are a PhD from an accredited institution in Fisheries, Marine Biology or related fields. Excellent computer skills in using programs such as Excel, ArcGIS, and SAS are essential. In addition, excellent interpersonal communication skills are required. Must possess or have the ability to successfully obtain a boater’s operator license immediately following the start date of the position. Candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
