Motivated individual interested in developing new functional in vitro systems for use in drug discovery and toxicity, especially people who are interested in translating the basic systems into validated assays. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic center at the cutting edge of nanoscience technology, working with the Head of the Hybrid Systems Lab ( http://www.nanoscience.ucf.edu/faculty_hickman.php), and also to work with state-of-the-art surface modification and analysis, electrophysiology and immunocytochemical characterization facilities. Our group is conducting research in biological interface design for the creation of test-beds for functional cellular systems to investigate spinal cord repair, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiac function and lung diseases. The Hybrid Systems Lab is designing functional assays for high throughput analysis systems to screen drug candidates based on cell-cell communication in BioMEMS systems as well as creating hybrid systems for biosensor and biological computation applications and the creation of functional in vitro systems.
The on-line application at https://www.jobswithucf.com/postings/33458requires a Candidates should submit curriculum vitae including area of interest, research experience, publication list (if any), and three references.
