The Department of Cancer and Cell Biology at University of Cincinnati has an opening for Postdoctoral Fellow to study transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in breast cancer. The Zhang laboratory currently focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of gene- and tissue- specific transcriptional cofactors [Mol Cell 19:89-100, PNAS (2010) 107: 6765, PNAS (2010) 107:10196, JBC (2011) 286(20):17746, EMBO J. (2011) 30(12):2405] in mammary stem cells fate determination and breast cancer by using a combination of biochemical, molecular as well as mouse genetic (conditional knockout and mutant knockin) approaches. We are also currently developing RNA-based nano-therapeutics to target these cofactors to overcome the endocrine and chemo- therapeutic resistance of human breast cancer.
The Zhang laboratory is located at the state-of-art Vontz Center for Molecular Studies of the College of Medicine. The Vontz Center is situated in the Medical Center (East Campus), which includes Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine, UC Cancer Institute, University Hospital and Barrett Cancer Center. The medical center is a dynamic and collaborative environment research environment offering strong partnerships between Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati.

Interested applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with research experience in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology. Prior experience with animal studies is a plus.
