Description
A position is available for a postgraduate research student leading to the degree of PhD.
This is a four-year position funded by a BBSRC doctoral training award, in co-operation with Pfizer plc., to develop genetic methodology and use this to identify genes associated with host survival of the porcine respiratory pathogen Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, the cause of enzootic pneumonia.
Applicants should hold a first or 2(i) honours degree in a biological science subject and be motivated to conduct academic research in an animal pathogen. A solid grounding in microbiology and microbial genetics would be a strong advantage.
The BBSRC studentship is eligible to UK and some EU citizens. EU nationals should contact the Graduate School, The Royal Veterinary College, Camden Campus, Royal College Street, London, NW1 0TU, Tel +44 (0)20 7468 5134 for details on eligibility.
