Applications are invited for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Fellow within the Division of Neuroscience, The John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The successful applicant will work on a project, under the supervision of Dr Clarke Raymond, to investigate the mechanisms of different forms of long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus and their relationship to learning and memory in rodent models.

For specific background see Raymond & Redman J Physiol 570 (1): 97-111, and Raymond TINS 30 (4): 167-175.

Applicants will require an excellent understanding of synaptic plasticity and LTP in particular. Experience in electrophysiological recording from brain slice preparations is of key importance to the role. Additional experience in calcium imaging and/or behavioural testing in rodents would be advantageous, but not essential.
