Description

A Postdoctoral position is available immediately to characterize two oxygen sensitive metalloenzymes containing a [4Fe-4S] cluster as prosthetic group.

The reactions catalysed by these enzymes are both involving electron transfers and generate radical intermediates. EPR experiments will be performed in order to identify these radicals. The work planned would also consist in the crystallisation of these enzymes.
The project is funded by the National Research Agency (ANR).

The candidate is expected to be highly motivated, to have obtained a PhD in chemistry or biochemistry or a closely related field and have a very good background in enzymology including enzyme purifications and kinetics. Knowledge in EPR spectroscopy and/or in protein crystallisation is required. Salary will be based on ANR guidelines.
